Can I avoid catching Covid-19 from someone isolated in my house?

There seems to be a general consensus that washing hands with warm soapy water has high efficacy. However, if someone is sharing a home with their family, is it realistic to avoid infection of everyone in the home if they are sharing bathrooms, kitchens and potentially other areas?

Avoiding cross infection within a household is probably not feasible.  If one household member is infected so will every surface that they touch.  The only way to stop cross contamination is complete isolation.  Below is the information on this sent to immunosuppressed patients in Scotland to show how draconian the measures required are:
